The Zeeland community is part of this state wide program. This involves programs for our younger children on safety taught by an officer or trained adult volunteer. It also involves people with homes in the community who are willing to assist a child in need. These adults have been screened and trained by the police department. If a child sees a Child Watch sign in the window of a home, they can feel confident that it is a "safe" home for them to go to if they need help. An example would be if a child is feeling uncomfortable about a suspicious vehicle or person. Anyone interested in becoming a Child Watch volunteer is asked to contact the police department - 616-772-9125.
